A personal message from Stephanie Woodward

Sponsor Stephanie Woodward now!

Hey There!

Did you know that in 2017 I was arrested 9 times fighting for the life and liberty of disabled Americans?

That's right. I spent more time in cuffs than I did with my cats! But each arrest was worth it because I was fighting for Disability Rights with ADAPT.

Maybe you saw ADAPT in the news this summer as hundreds of us protested across the nation for the basic human rights that so many take for granted. We fight to end discrimination. We fight for disabled people to live in the community. We fight for life & liberty for disabled people.

For decades ADAPT has been fighting for Disability Rights. We’ve made great progress, but there's much more to do. The majority of us in ADAPT have disabilities. We have been discriminated against in employment, housing, & other areas. Some of my fellow ADAPT members have been forced into nursing facilities simply because of their disabilities. This is why is it so important for us to continue to fight for the rights of all people with disabilities who are discriminated against daily.

While our work is important, it is not cheap. In fact, fighting for Disability Rights is a privlege that many cannot afford. We need funds to travel to D.C., funds to make protest signs, funds for legal fees, and more.

This is why I am asking for your support.

Your donation will help our advocacy efforts, including covering travel expenses, making fabulous protest signs, & even cover some of our legal fees (aka bailing me out of jail!).

If those are not enough reasons to sponsor me for the ADAPT Fun Run, here's a few bribes to convince you:

Everyone who donates to me, no matter the amount, will get:

 1. A handwritten thank you from me, complete with a cat sticker and a picture of me in police custody.

Anyone who donates at least $100 will get:

1. A picture of one or more of my cats doing something hilarious. Or evil. More likely evil actually.

2. One secret, surprise gift. You won’t know what it is or when it’s coming, but you won’t be disappointed.*

The person who donates the highest amount will get some added bonuses, including:

1. A ride in one of my wheelchairs. This is quite a reward considering my chairs are the prettiest & coolest chairs ever.

2. Dinner with me. You can even sit in my chair while we eat & do wheelies because you’re a rock star.

3. A cat mug. Because cats rule the world.

It’s easy to donate.  Just click on "Sponsor Stephanie" and give what you can.

If you cannot afford a lot, that's okay. Even $1 makes a difference. If you don't have a dollar, you can still help by sharing this message and asking others to support ADAPT. You can also help by calling your legislators and asking them to cosponsor the Disability Integration Act.

In the end, the most important thing is that your support will help us to fight for disability rights.

Sincerely,

Stephanie

Oh. Ps.  Remember, your donation is tax deductible

* Well, you might be disappointed if you don’t appreciate how thoughtful and/or hysterical I am.
